I am a post-doctoral researcher since September 2016 in the IRD of Tahiti if French Polynesia. The main goal of my work is to study the seasonal variability of phytoplankton in the South Pacific Ocean using bio-optical data acquired from profiling floats. Before this contract, I did my PhD for 3 years in the « Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche » during which I was already involved in the project « mon océan et moi ».
Anecdote :
I felt in love with the sea in Port-Cros, in the South of France, when I came face-to-face with a grouper during my first scuba diving. When we love so much to be underwater admiring seabed, it becomes natural dreaming to work to preserve the oceanic environment. Thus, already in high school, I decided that I will be an oceanographer ! However, at the time, I had no idea how the scientific research will passionate me and all the enrichment that it would bring into my life.
My motivation in this projet...
I really enjoy being part of this project because I think it is essential to raise public awareness to the beauty of our oceans. Through this project, I would like to help the general public to better understand the ocean and thus to better preserve it.
