Grâce à des projets pluridisciplinaires tels que SOCLIM et Green Edge, les scientifiques comprennent de mieux en mieux le fonctionnement des océans polaires et le rôle qu’ils jouent dans le contexte des changements environnementaux. L’équipe ‘adopt a float’, fascinée par ces environnements lointains, s’implique fortement dans ces recherches.

C’est pourquoi et durant l’année scolaire 2016-2017, ‘adopt a float’ propose aux élèves et à leurs enseignants d’élaborer un projet autour d’un thème commun "les océans polaires". Les groupes scolaires pourront, par exemple, travailler sur les moyens d’observation des océans polaires et les atouts des flotteurs profileurs dans ce contexte. Ils pourront éventuellement comparer une région polaire avec une autre région océanique de leur choix et pourquoi pas aussi échanger avec un autre groupe d’élèves.

In 2016-2017, adopt a float focuses on the polar oceans!

Through multidisciplinary projects such as SOCLIM and Green Edge, scientist now understand better and better the functioning of the polar oceans and their role in the context of environmental change. The 'adopt a float' team, fascinated by these remote environments, is strongly involved in such research.

Throughout the school year 2016-2017, 'adopt a float' thus invites students and teachers to develop a project around the central topic of "the polar oceans". School groups can for example work on observational tools used for polar oceans and the advantages of profiling floats within this context. They may also target a comparison of a polar region with another oceanic region of their choice and why not discuss it with another group of students ...
